To access Chemical Abstracts via SciFinder Scholar, you will need to download and install the SciFinder Scholar software. For detailed instructions, please refer to:

For PC users: http://www.lib.nus.edu.sg/eforms/common/sfs/sf_download.html

For Mac users: http://www.lib.nus.edu.sg/eforms/common/sfs/mac/sf_download.html

If you are prompted for login when accessing the above URL,
> for staff, please login as "nusstf\NUSNET ID"
> for students, please login as "nusstu\NUSNET ID"
followed by your NUSNET password.

If you have followed the installation instructions and still encounter the following error message, 

"Scifinder Scholar is unable to establish a session with the server at CAS. If the problem persists, please contact your Scifinder Scholar campus administrator because it is possible that your installation is no longer valid."

please ensure that:

1. You are connected to NUSNET
    

2. You have copied and saved the site.prf file to your C:\SFSCHLR directory (or the directory where you have installed the SciFinder Scholar program) after installing SciFinder Scholar.  Make sure that when you save the file, right click on the site.prf hyperlink and save it as "site.prf" with the inverted commas.  This will ensure that the filename is saved exactly as site.prf and not site.htm or site.html.
   
   For Mac users, please make sure that you have copied the Mac version of the site.prf file.
